Wisdom Family Foundation is a founding partner of Fostering Success, a non-profit dedicated to connecting youth in the foster care system with local mentors. Our mentors share insights on personal finance, career development, and health and wellness to prepare youth for adulthood and their transition out of the foster care system.
424,000 youth are in foster care nationally and 20,000 transition or ‘age out’ of the foster care system annually. Within four years of aging out, 70% of these young people will be on government assistance, 25% will not have completed high school and 29% will be unable to pay rent. Fostering Success is addressing a crucial need by helping youth develop life skills and connect with the resources they need to succeed in their next phase of life.
Fostering Success was co-founded by Kristi Wisdom, president of Wisdom Family Foundation. Under Kristi's leadership, the organization has expanded its network of partner organizations and mentors to provide further resources to fostered youth.
